What is Wintergreen Essential Oil?

The simultaneously fresh and warming scent of Wintergreen stimulates, relaxes and rekindles your inner fire. Use a drop or two in a warm bath or process in a massage oil.

Evergreen (Gaultheria Procumbens) is native to North America and has thick, leathery leaves with white flowers. The leaves are distilled to make this delicious essential oil.

Wintergreen Essential Oil is a real must have For every sports enthusiast or yogi. Put a drop in the bottle of your favorite carrier oil (such as Jojoba Oil of Fractionated Coconut Oil) and massage into your muscles after each workout. How do you use it?

Wintergreen is an enormously powerful essential oil and it is therefore extra important that you use it well diluted. The amount of Wintergreen Essential Oil in your product should not exceed 0.06% .

Please note: the maximum dosages in Wintergreen essential oil products have been tightened as of 17-12-2022:

Maximum dosages for use on/in the:

0.06% - skin (in creams and washable products)
0.002% - skin around the eyes
0.009% - hair (with the exception of washable products)
0.03% - Lips

In a warm bath

Fill the bathtub with warm water and mix 1 to 2 drops of Wintergreen Essential Oil with 1 tablespoon of Jojoba Oil. Add to your bath. This may not seem like much, but due to the powerful effect of this oil, this is more than enough, enjoy!

In the diffuser

In your aroma diffuser, combine 1 drop of Wintergreen Essential, 2 drops Peppermint Essential Oil and 3 drops Pink Grapefruit Essential Oil for a bright, refreshing atmosphere in your home.

What is so special about it?

Wintergreen owes its typical scent to methyl salicylate, a substance that only forms when the stiff leaves are soaked in warm water. It is this same substance that also Birch Essential Oil gives the distinctive, beneficial scent.
