What is Melissa water?

Melissa water is a product that is released during the making of Melissa Essential Oil, during the steam distillation process. Melissa water therefore contains a low content of Melissa Essential Oil and the spicy scent is similar, but milder.

You use Melissa water, also called Lemon Balm (Melissa Officinalis), as an ingredient in care products, as toner, room spray or body mist.

Benefits

Soothes sensitive skin

Melissa water soothes red, sensitive skin and has a mild, cleansing effect. The water is suitable for normal to oily skin, but it also makes mature skin glow again. You can use the hydrosol as a toner for your face or as an ingredient for your homemade water-based skincare products.

Calms your mind

The scent of Melissa water cools, soothes and relaxes, but is not intoxicating. The hydrosol is therefore ideal to soothe and balance not only your emotions, but also those of your toddler. Use the water as a room spray or body mist for the best effect and combine with other hydrosols, such as lavender or sandalwood

How do you use it?

Lemon balm water is very suitable to use as a base for your DIY care products, such as toners, tonics, body sprays and make-up removers. Below you will find some delicious inspiration for a body or room spray.

Baby Room Spray

Combine 60 ml of lemon balm water with 60 ml Lavender Water and use as room spray in the baby's room. For example, to freshen the air after changing the diaper.

Cooling body mist

Combine 60 ml of lemon balm water with 15 ml Lavender Water in 15 ml Oranjebloesemwater in a spray bottle. Spray yourself wonderfully as a cooling off on a hot summer day or at the beach. (This blend is not suitable for children under three years old).

What is so special about it?

Did you know that the name 'lemon balm' comes from the Greek word for honey bee? Since ancient times, beekeepers have been planting balm flowers in abundance around the beehives to keep the honey bees healthy and well-fed!

Please note: Keep out of reach of children. Always consult with a specialist before use. For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes.
