What is Alpha-Bisabolol?

Alpha-Bisabolol occurs naturally in the Brazilian Candeia tree (Vanillosmopis erythropappa). It is widely used in care products and cosmetics because of its floral scent and many beneficial properties for the skin.

Alpha-Bisabolol is also simply called Bisabolol or Levomenol.

Benefits

Deep hydration

Alpha-Bisabolol contains panthenol, a natural humectant that helps the skin retain moisture, so it is less likely to dry out. Alpha-Bisabolol therefore helps to keep the skin well hydrated. The substance penetrates into the deeper layers of the skin, making signs of skin aging less visible.

Anti-aging eigenschappen

Bisabolol supports the maintenance of collagen and stimulates the production of collagen by the skin. Collagen plays an important role in keeping the skin young, firm and elastic, so Alpha-Bisabolol contributes to slowing down the natural aging of the skin. In addition, Alpha-Bisabolol protects the skin from harmful external influences and strengthens the skin barrier.

Masks unpleasant odors

Alpha-Bisabolol plays a role in reducing sweat odors, making it an ideal ingredient in a DIY deodorant. Add to that the fact that it has a soft floral scent of its own and your deodorant is complete!

Sustainably sourced

Naturally extracted bisabolol, which comes from trees, contributes to deforestation and poses a more serious problem than palm oil production. It requires cutting down a tree to obtain this form of bisabolol, a practice to which we no longer want to contribute. We have therefore switched from a natural form to a fermented form of Alpa Bisabolol. Instead, we introduce Bisabolife, produced by the fermentation of plant waste from the sugar industry, which not only helps reduce waste but also provides a more active variant of bisabolol than the traditional version.

Allows other ingredients to absorb better

Alpha-Bisabolol allows other ingredients in your product to penetrate deeper into the skin. Think of Essential oils en Base oils, but also vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Alpha-Bisabolol therefore improves the effect of your homemade care product.

How do you use it?

Incorporate Alpha-Bisabolol into DIY care products to reap its many beneficial benefits. Add the liquid in the cooling phase of your creation process, when your emulsion is below 30 degrees Celsius. Do not allow more than 0.8% of your product to consist of Alpha-Bisabolol. Never use undiluted on the skin.

Alpha-Bisabolol is especially suitable for dry, sensitive and red skin, but also an indispensable ingredient in anti-aging care products.

Store the Alpha Bisabolol in a cool dark place.
