Rosewood Essential Oil
What is Rosewood?
Indian Rosewood oil has a warm and slightly floral sweet aroma with a woody undertone.
Indian Rosewood is distilled from the bark of the Dalbergia Sissoo Tree. It grows at the foot of the Himalayas. It is a fast-growing tree with leathery leaves and white-pink flowers.
Dalbergia Sissoo, also known as the Himalayan Rain Tree, is not an endangered tree species and does not appear on the CITES list. It is therefore not to be confused with the Brazilian Rosewood oil, which comes from the Aniba rosaeodora tree. The Indian tree is sustainably grown and produced and has no links to deforestation.
How to use Rosewood Essential Oil?
Never use more than 1 - 2% essential oil and always dilute it in a carrier oil or butter. So for example 1 to 2 ml of rosewood essential oil in 100 ml of almond oil or shea butter. Apply the oil as a massage or skin oil where necessary to cleansed skin.
It is also common to evaporate a few drops of the essential oil with a fresh rose-like scent in a diffuser for a relaxed and stress-relieving feeling.
