Tapioca flour (500 grams) - Organic
What is Tapioca Flour?
Tapioca flour is a fine, white powder made from the starch from the root of the cassava plant (Manihot esculenta), a tropical crop that is common in South America, Africa and Asia.
What are the benefits of Tapioca flour?
Absorbs sebum
Tapioca flour absorbs excess sebum and moisture without drying out the skin. This makes it perfect for oily skin types, DIY deodorants and mattifying powders
Silky texture
The powder gives a velvety soft skin feeling and reduces the sticky effect of fatty ingredients such as Shea Butter, oils or waxes.
Improves spreadability and absorption
In emulsions and butters, tapioca flour ensures that products absorb faster and feel less greasy on the skin. This makes your products more pleasant to use.
Suitable for sensitive skin
Tapioca flour is mild, odorless, and hypoallergenic, making it well tolerated by people with sensitive skin or allergies.
How do you use Tapioca flour?
Tapioca flour provides a soft skin feel, reduces a sticky or greasy finish from oils and butters and helps regulate excess sebum.
This makes it very suitable for:
Creams and body butters: makes the formula less greasy and absorbs faster.
Deodorants: absorbs sweat and improves spreadability.
Powders and make-up: as a filler or fixing ingredient for a matte look.
Dry shampoos: refreshes the hair without water.
Tapioca flour is not soluble in water or oil. It remains as a powder in the formula and must be well distributed to avoid lumps.
