What is Borage Oil?

Borage oil is a moisturizing oil that absorbs quickly. The oil is suitable for dry and sensitive skin, as well as skin that quickly gets pimples. Mature skin also benefits from the nourishing properties of this beneficial oil. In short: an ideal ingredient for making a serum or other skin care product.

Borage Oil has a light yellow color and is cold-pressed from the seeds of the Borago Officinalis (also called borage or borage). It naturally contains 20% gamma-linolenic acid (omega-6 fatty acid) which also makes your skin very happy.

Benefits

For red skin with pimples

Borage oil is a rich source of the essential fatty acid omega-6, which gives the oil a deeply moisturizing effect without leaving a sticky feeling on the skin. Borage Oil absorbs quickly without clogging pores, making the oil suitable for skin that gets pimples easily.

For dry and sensitive skin

Because Borage Oil absorbs so quickly, it is also an ideal oil to nourish dry and sensitive skin. Borage has a positive effect on resistance and blood flow and contains many antioxidants, which helps protect sensitive skin from harmful external influences.

For mature skin

Borage Oil is deeply moisturizing and has a positive effect on cell renewal and collagen production. This makes the oil a pleasant anti-ager that is suitable for mature skin.

Cheers up & gives courage

In addition to all these wonderful benefits for the skin, Borage Oil also has a cheering and encouraging effect. The name Borage is probably derived from the Celtic word 'borrach' which means 'a brave person'. Mix the oil with a thin oil such as Jojoba Oil of Argan oil and your favorite essential oils (check in advance if they are suitable for your skin). Use the combination as a body oil or bath oil to enjoy the encouraging energy of this oil. Or put some of the oil in a Roll-On Bottle and roll it on your wrists several times a day for an energetic boost!

How do you use it?

Use Borage Oil as an ingredient in DIY care products, such as a serum or scrub.

As a facial oil

After cleansing your skin, massage 2 drops of Borage Oil over your face. Make gentle, circular motions until the oil is completely absorbed. Because the oil does not leave a sticky layer, you can immediately apply your make-up afterwards.

Store Borage Oil in the refrigerator to enjoy the nourishing properties of the oil for as long as possible.

What is so special about it?

Borago Officinalis originates from the Mediterranean region and is loved by bumblebees and bees, who enjoy the plant's summery blue flowers. The taste of the leaves of the plant is reminiscent of cucumber and the plant is therefore also called borage in the Netherlands.
