Why is Apricot kernel oil so good?

We have all eaten its deliciously juicy apricot, but in oil form, the well-known apricot has a fantastic effect. This is how this oil works fantastically against dry skin and it strengthens our connective tissue making your skin look tighter.

Apricot kernel oil consists mainly of unsaturated fatty acids, including oleic acid (60%) and linoleic acid (30%). Linoleic acid is an essential fatty acid: your body needs it, but does not produce it itself. This is of course not very convenient, because linoleic acid counteracts flaky and dehydrated skin, among other things. That's why many people get linoleic acid from food, but you can also apply Apricot kernel oil directly to the skin.

In addition, Apricot kernel oil Vitamin A, C, E in K all of which bring their own benefits. For example, vitamin E provides an anti-aging effect that keeps your skin young and vitamin K reduces the dark circles around your eyes.

How is it made?

Apricot kernel oil is pressed from the kernels of apricots and is native to Armenia. The botanical name is named after it: Prunus Armeniaca. Nowadays, Apricot kernel oil is made a lot around the Mediterranean region, especially in Spain and Turkey.

How to use it:

For optimal hydration, rub your body with Apricot kernel oil just after showering or spread some drops over your face after cleansing. With the help of the oil, your skin retains the most moisture for a wonderfully soft and cared for skin.

For hair and scalp, it's best to massage a little oil into your scalp in the shower and apply it to your hair ends, then wash your hair with shampoo as usual.

Since Apricot kernel oil does not have an intense nutty scent and a fairly subtle color, it is ideal to use as a make-up remover. Simply apply some oil to a cotton pad and wipe it where it is needed.

Apricot kernel oil is stored in a closed cabinet and has a shelf life of about one year. If you don't use the oil regularly, it is better to keep it in the refrigerator, so it has a slightly longer shelf life.
