What is Olivem 2090

Olivem 2090 combines the good properties of olive oil with another substance called polyricinoleic acid to make a mixture that works very well as an emulsifier, meaning it helps keep mixtures of oil and water stable. At the same time, it ensures that the skin is well hydrated and feels comfortable.

Advantages of Olivem 2090

Suitable for the cold process method

This ingredient is specially designed to make making your own creams and lotions as easy as possible. You don't need to heat your mixture before emulsifying it. However, you do have to add the water drop by drop under continuous stirring. This requires some patience and you prefer to use a mechanical agitator for this.

How do you use it?

You add Olivem 2090 to the oil phase of your formula. Depending on the thickness of the cream or lotion you want to make, add 2% to 4% to your recipe. 

Use in Oil Cleanser

Make your own oil cleanser with Olivem 2090 and watch your oil serum turn into a milky substance when water is added! Simply add 3% Olivem 2090 to your all-oil recipe and your oilcleanser is ready! 

Use in water-based cream

If you want to use Olivem 2090 as a cold process emulsifier, use 3% in your recipe. You add it to the oil phase of your cream, and add water drop by drop to emulsify it. You can have 30% to 40% of your formula consist of oil. You don't need to heat the phases in advance. However, you will need a mixer that can mix quickly while you drip the water in drop by drop, otherwise it will not work. 

Tip: Add a mix of glycerin (5%) and xanthan gum (0.2%) to your recipe for better stability
