What is Black Cumin Seed Oil?

Black cumin seed oil is extracted from the seeds of Nigella sativa, an annual plant from the Mediterranean region and South Asia. The oil has been prized for thousands of years for its nourishing properties for skin and hair, and seeds of it have even been found in Tutankhamun's tomb. Our black cumin seed oil is organic and cold-pressed, with a deep dark amber color, an intense spicy scent and a slightly peppery taste.

How is Black Cumin Seed Oil made?

The seeds of the Nigella sativa plant are harvested and cold-pressed. With cold-pressed oil, no heat above 30 degrees is used during pressing, so that the natural active ingredients, fatty acids and aromas are preserved. Then the oil is filtered and ready for use.

Why is Black Cumin Seed Oil so special?

Black cumin seed oil has a unique characteristic that sets it apart from virtually all other vegetable oils: it contains thymoquinone, a natural terpenoid that is responsible for most of its research value. Thymoquinone has powerful antioxidant and sedative properties and has been widely studied in scientific research.

In addition, the oil consists of about 55 to 60% linoleic acid (omega 6) and 20 to 25% oleic acid (omega 9). Together with the bioactive substances, this makes black cumin seed oil a rich, powerful oil for the skin.
